Would Summer Love return to the same holiday house for S2?

Anthology series could say farewell to Fairhaven holiday house if it returns for ABC.

ABC’s Summer Love has just concluded its debut season with 8 stories all set in a Fairhaven holiday house.

The show is yet to receive a renewal from ABC (the broadcaster is expected to reveal Upfronts in November) but as an anthology series, it has the option of switching locations from the Great Ocean Road should it be renewed.

“It’s a pretty extensive coastline around Australia. So surely there are other holiday houses too!” Wayne Hope recently told TV Tonight.

“We hired about 28 houses in Fairhaven, from the end of January this year. There’s only a couple of places on the coast side of the road. Most of the houses are on the other side of the road but we managed to get one (beach side). Interestingly, it was the site of the original shack in Mad Max was shot in 1979.”

Gristmill, a small independent company he runs with partner Robyn Butler, is also busy developing other project.

“We’ve got a few things at various stages, nothing that’s public yet but we’re busy!”

  1. I enjoyed most of it. Some were a little broad in tone, others more level. Ironically the one that Robyn and Wayne appeared in together I thought was the strongest. And the series opener with the two couples. An interesting idea and pretty well executed.

  2. I enjoyed every episode of this show. Hope they do commission a S2, if they use a different location I hope the cockatoo gets another crack and hopefully they can relocate the cherub peeing fountain too.
