US actor Lisa Loring, best known for The Addams Family has died, aged 64.

She passed away on January 28 following a massive stroke, according to a Facebook post by friend, Laure Jacobson.

“It is with great sadness that I report the death of our friend, Lisa Loring. 4 Days ago she suffered a massive stroke brought on by smoking and high blood pressure. She had been on life support for 3 days. Yesterday, her family made the difficult decision to remove it and she passed last night. She is embedded in the tapestry that is pop culture and in our hearts always as Wednesday Addams.

“Beautiful, kind, a loving mother, Lisa’s legacy in the world of entertainment is huge. And the legacy for her family and friends — a wealth of humor, affection and love will long play in our memories. RIP, Lisa. Damn, girl…you were a ton of fun.

Loring was just six years old when she featured as Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family from 1964 – 1966. Gomez and Morticia’s daughter kept bizarre pets such as a black widow spider named Homer and a lizard named Lucifer, in addition to playing with a headless doll named Marie Antoinette.

She reprised the role in 1977 for the telemovie Halloween with the New Addams Family.

Last year the character was revived in a hit Netflix series, Wednesday, starring Jenna Ortega.

Loring’s other credits include The Girl from U.N.C.L.E., Fantasy Island, Barnaby Jones, As the World Turns, The Pruitts of Southampton, and slasher films Blood Frenzy, Iced, and Savage Harbor.

    1. Very sad. She was so young really and had a bit of a hard life. Especially creepy just coming after the new Wednesday series which I’ve got to say I really ended up enjoying. Once you get used to the fact it’s not the original- and great- original 60’s show. But decidedly better than most sad reboots of today

  1. Too young. Loring was really good as Wednesday Addams playing it from a very young age with a knowing self-awareness.

Crazy to think that John Astin who played Gomez has outlived every member of the TV series cast including the actors who played the young children.
