Yellowstone final season bumped to November 2024

Originally slated to premiere later this year, Kevin Costner drama realigns due to US strikes.

US TV networks are now beginning to offer some clarity around the impact of strikes on their drama schedules.

Yellowstone, originally slated to premiere later this year, will move to November 2024 for its final instalment.

In Australia it will premiere the same day as the U.S. on Stan.

Paramount has also greenlit two new spinoff series — 1944 and a contemporary series currently titled 2024 -both likely for Paramount+ in Australia.

Led by Oscar®-winner Kevin Costner, Yellowstone is the #1 drama on U.S. cable television. Yellowstone chronicles the Dutton family who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect – the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders – an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and vicious business rivalries.

Starring alongside Kevin Costner, the impressive ensemble cast includes Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Brecken Merrill, Jefferson White, Forrie Smith, Denim Richards, Ian Bohen, Ryan Bingham, Gil Birmingham, and Australia’s own Finn Little and Jacki Weaver.

Yellowstone is co-created by Oscar®-nominated screenwriter Taylor Sheridan (Wind River, Hell or High Water and Sicario) and John Linson. Executive producers include John Linson, Art Linson, Taylor Sheridan, Kevin Costner, David C. Glasser, Bob Yari, Stephen Kay and Christina Voros.

  1. Let’s not forget that there were questions regarding Kevin’s availability for this series, as he had a ‘Western’ of his own in development, maybe this extra delay could make the situation more flexible for Kevin’s full participation. Taylor Sheridan has written approximately 60 scripts for Yellowstone, and is allegedly carrying Paramount+ with a number of other hit shows as well, so Mr. Sheridan could continue writing scripts for Yellowstone and any other show if he wanted to, no one looking at their future job would want to stop him, so he too must be supporting the writers’ strike I suppose.

  2. Was just thinking we hadn’t heard anything for a while and the last I remembered reading was “November 2023”. Disappointed but not surprised. Kind of guessed they’d be kicking the can down the road, but I did not think they’d push it out a whole year.
