Renewed: The Marlow Murder Club

Samantha Bon, Cara Horgan & Jo Martin will all return for more crime mysteries in Marlow.

UK msytery drama The Marlow Murder Club has been renewed for a second season.

Britain’s UKTV and US broadcaster Masterpiece have co-commissioned a further series produced by Monumental Television in association with ITV Studios.

This six-part series, which is set to start filming in coming months, sees Robert Thorogood join forces with writers Lucia Haynes (Annika, Vera) and Julia Gilbert (Midsomer Murders, Ridley), who will write a murder mystery each that spans two-episode instalments.

With three main cases in the series, episode one and two will be an adaptation of Thorogood’s second book, Death Comes to Marlow, with the other episodes being brand new, standalone stories.

The series sees retired archaeologist Judith Potts (Samantha Bond), Vicar’s wife, Becks Starling (Cara Horgan), and dog-walker, Suzie Harris (Jo Martin) are called back into action for new crimes in Marlow.

Debra Hayward, Monumental co-founder, said: “We loved collaborating with Robert on The Marlow Murder Club, and we couldn’t have asked for a better cast to bring to life his unlikely amateur detectives. We are thrilled that the first series went down so well with audiences, and we can’t wait to return to the charming town of Marlow for series two.”

The series screens in Australia on Seven.

  1. The first one would have been better in the 2 parts shown in the UK than dragged out over 4. It was all a bit slow until it wrapped everything up quickly, pulling the fact that the only suspects went to boarding school together. Guess they are saving book 3, The Queen Of Poisons for season 3.
