Gone: Britannia High. Bumped: Dance Machine, Holby Blue.

Seven adjusts its summer weekend viewing, dropping one show and moving two more.

Seven’s flirt with Britannia High has been short-lived. The UK music-drama has removed from schedule effective immediately and replaced with a movie, Cadet Kelly.

That also pushes Dance Machine out, to now will air at 3pm each weekday from Monday 22nd December.

Another UK drama, Holby Blue, is also to be replaced with a movie, Someone Like You.

Holby Blue moves to 10:30pm this Sunday.

  1. Bloody channel 7 . i finally found something great, fun and upbeat (britannia High) that I knew i’d be hooked on then poof! Its gone only showing 1 ep was a very stupid move oh and Cadet Kelly? Now that’s a movie which should be played after Saturday Disney.Channel 7 gotta love it-not anymore!!!

  2. BTW I used to live in the UK and I love UK shows there are the original and then America and Australia copy there shows instead of just showing the uk version
the australian versions of things are always worse!
and how can they tell if a show is going to be a hit or not by one week!
I usualy only watch channel ten because I hate 7 but this was soming I liked and that blue show with the cop was cool to the cop was scottish so that made it all the better me and my dad where watching it together the other night and then poof it was gone the next day so wateva channel seven thinks it’s achieving with losing it’s British viewers then let them be the stupid ones all I would like is my show back!

  3. I love Britannia High!

over the holidays or next year I just love dancing chick flicks and tv shows so for all the teenage girls u will get watching ur channel to see that hot co star, bring it back plz!!!!!

  4. channel 7 wtf ? bump britannia high why cant they get rid of today tonight that show seems to real the same stories off every 3 months weather it be something on p platers, some getting ripped off or someone doin it tought, yep great reporting , not to mention the segways

  5. I agree with Beau, screw you channel 7, this is the second time you’ve stuffed up my tv guide, dwts/idol on at the same time, and now i found a show to watch in summer, and its gone, screw you!

  6. didn’t really like britannia. agree with jerome, very corny, belongs after saturday disney, not in primetime.
and also agree with benno, UK shows don’t work. which is sad because our shows sometimes work over there neighbours, hopefully PTTR.

this is funny because when i saw 7’s summer lineup i thought good, good, good (got to these 3 and thought) what the hell, what the hell, what the hell.

any word on where frost and this is your laugh are headed.

  7. Channel 7 is turning into Channel 10. I used to watch Veronica Mars and 90210 on Channel 10 until they were taken after only a few episodes. And now Channel 7 is doing the same thing! I seriously am getting sick of these two channels…leaving me to watch ABC and SBS…great…

  8. @ Benno:

Top Gear, Dr Who, Little Britain, Ab Fab, Primevil, Thomas the Tank Engine, Shameless, Black Adder, Mr Bean, Fawlty Towers, The Office,
    to name a few exceptions….

    Brittania was just crap.

  9. I decided to record Britannia High Sat night as I wasn’t home. I wanted to give it a go. I really enjoyed the show. I used to adore the tv show Fame & Britannia High reminded me a bit of that. One of the girls reminded me of Victoria Beckham haha.
Its really sad 7 have axed the show after just 1 episode – at least give it a few weeks, its non ratings period, why on earth do ratings matter this late in the year!!

  10. Well, on the day Seven axed Britannia High was axed by Seven, it also posted a press release (from ITV which makes the drama) trumpeting that the program had been sold to Seven, as well as HBO Latin America, MBC Middle East and Nickelodeon Australia.

  11. Britannia High was a bit “different” and only half good but at least it was interesting … unlike that idiotic Dance Machine and uninteresting Holby Blue … the mosty annoying thing about Britannia was the often unnecessary dance numbers for no good reason …
    Jack!

  12. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, I had a feeling that this would happen.

Yet another reason to stop watching Channel 7. That’s something I never thought I would say this year.

Right when I download the album and get kinda excited about seeing the next episode they do this, hmmm . . .

Sue me Channel 7, I’m gonna download Britannia High, Bring It On!

  13. No loss there. A bit sad Holby Blue was moved to a later timeslot, but lets face it, most of us use PVRs anyway, so as long as it is still on some time, we got it!

  14. i watched a bit of brittania and thought it was just plain weird, its like High school musical only cornier, and that is saying something.

it didn’t belong in primetime, hopefully for all those kids that did like it; 7 reschedules it after saturday disney or something.

meh. to holby and dance machine. where does this leave frost?

  15. Shocking!

    No wait… expected!

We all said this would happen before this went to air, did they really need ratings for proof. Being incapable of anticipating this kind of reaction is why Australia programming is so terrible, Arrested Development, Weeds and Veronica Mars at 1:00AM, the Bold & the Beautiful in primetime. No commercial network is immune to bad programminng… very bad programming.
