A Reasonable Request Foundation
Which is funnier? Here's a sketch from Foxtel's former comedy The Mansion, which parodied philanthropy in its 'Reasonable Request Foundation.'

Proving there are really no new ideas in comedy (or television for that matter) here’s a sketch from Foxtel’s former comedy series The Mansion, which parodied philanthropy in its Reasonable Request Foundation sketch.
The series was hosted by Michael Chamberlin and Charlie Pickering and featured Kate McLennan and Justin Kennedy, some of whom appeared in this year’s Logie sketches.
You can decide which is funnier.

There are no new ideas, and if they someone does managed to come up with something different it usually doesn’t last as not enough people watch, so we only have ourselves to blame!
apparently, “the inbreedy bunch” wasn’t a new idea either…..
check it out on YouTube
I reckon this one was funnier than The Chaser’s one.
You could hear the audience reaction to the final line of The Chaser sketch. Some were a little bit uneasy.
I saw a news report form TEN on YouTube about this, TEN apparntly found the sketch so offensive that they deemed they had to play nearly all of it, in its news report, if the sketch is really that offensive, shouldnt TEN not be showing it?
“Proving there are really no new ideas in comedy ” that’s right.
5 years ago, Rove Live had a skit where Pete went to the Royal Children’s Hospital in an attempt to cheer up the kids with requests but they ended up telling him to leave or give back the buzzer.
don’t forget – 10 years ago, the Micallef Program did a sketch with the make a wish foundation, where the dying child said his wish was to have sex with lisa mccune. and shaun asked if she would do it, saying ‘she agreed to the potato factory…’
Regardless of which one is, or isn’t, funnier, the main point is that ‘The Chaser’ ripped off the idea for their skit
2 Eps into the new series and not only is it less funny than previous series’, it seems that without the whipping boys of the past like Howard or Bush, ‘The Chaser’ team are becoming unoriginal as well.
That was not funny at all, whereas The Chaser clearly was…
Show’s what can be done when you substitute a mean, cynical tone with a few, you know, jokes. Back to school Chaser boys.
This wasn’t all that funny, but it didn’t cross the line like the Chaser morons did…
This sketch is actually funny and not offensive compared to the Chaser’s sketch.
I don’t think it’s about being subtle. The chaser boys made fun of the kids, if you think about it this sketch is really making fun of Hayley Lewis, shop-a-dockets and Angry Anderson by calling them second rate.
For the record, I wasn’t offended by the Chaser sketch, I just didn’t find it funny.
The stick part was the funniest bit. The “they’re going to die anyway” line at the end was what soured things.
At least the kids in this one didn’t get given sticks. Does this mean being offensive is only a problem if lots of people are watching?
Send this to The Chaser morons…a lesson in subtlety…also given the millions of taxpayer dollars thrown their way, perhaps they can develop a unique concept.
So when Foxtel does it no one cares but if the Chaser does it then they are bad people. Someone send a link of this video to TT and ACA then maybe they will get of the Chasers back. The Chaser version was 100% better then this.
that one was funny without being offensive- it is possible.
I’m outraged!! I’m angrsy!! Won’t somebody just think of the poor dying children!!
Case closed.
the difference between the two, is that this one was more subtle, didnt show the dying kids for example.
