As previously reported, Conan joins GEM from next Tuesday night.
Nine publicity notes indicate the show will be “fast-tracked nightly direct from the United States” at 11:30pm Tuesdays to Fridays.
Let’s hope they stick to their word…
The new TBS show marks the return of the popular late-night host following his exit from NBC.
GEM’s screening will be the first time O’Brien has aired regularly on Free to Air TV in Australia.
First week guests are as follows:
Tuesday, November 9: Seth Rogen and music guest Jack White
Wednesday, November 10: Tom Hanks, Jack McBrayer and Soundgarden
Thursday, November 11: Jon Hamm, Charlyne Yi and Fistful of Mercy
Friday, November 12: Michael Cera, Julie Bowen and comedian Jon Dore

Welcome back CoCo. I actually cancelled my foxtel subscription after they axed “Late Night Legends”. At least now I can get my daily fix of late night shows with Conan & Letterman. Now if only Leno & Fallon were aired here again. Anyway congrats to nine for getting some decent late night entertainment – I was missing my “Late Night” shows
people please stop using ‘retarded’ to describe something you think is not very good, ignorance is not an excuse.
Agreed. Should not have been approved. Sometimes a few slip through when there are so many. Apologies.
Harry Schmidt, your backward views go well with your name.
Looked at Ice TV guide, doesn’t say the show is in HD which makes it truly ridiculous having the show on Gem instead of GO. Second episode is at 11 instead of 11.30 as well which is better, but there are no daytime repeats it seems.
why is conan on women-only channel? Is channel 9 [edit]? They think he the male Oprah or something lol
So definitely no Jay Leno? 😉
looks life GEM has lost the late night repeats and put on home shopping instead. won’t be able to catch any of their monday movies any more.
Coco is back!!
thanks everyone 🙂 didn’t know it was in fact only 4 nights a week.
I do think it’s too late. American TV viewing habits are not that of Australians
10.30 would be better, even 9.30 but I suppose they want it to run against Letterman
The complaints about the late timeslot seriously have me scratching my head.
It is a late night talk show!! In the US it is airing at 11:00pm.
GEM’s timeslot is appropriate..
I am in LA at the moment, and TBS is running endless promos and watermarks spruiking it. It looks good.
Saw the promo on GEM last night – hilarious!
Shame it doesn’t look like the eps will be repeated the following day.
Looking forward to Coco’s return!
Why are people complaining a late night talk show is on late at night? Or that its on GEM? At least its actually on!
Conan only did four nights a week when he did Late Night too… so not that weird… what is GEM scheduling Monday nights?
This is a disgrace. GEM is apparently some “women’s only” channel. What in the holy f*** is Conan doing on there. Is nine just seriously misinformed about what kinda show it is? And they decide to put it on horrendously late at 11.30? Australian programming is embarrassing. And they wonder why people torrent and rapidshare this sh*t.
@billy balakalai – The show is only on 4 nights a week in the USA….Monday through Thursday.
It’s similar to the old Late Night schedule which was Tuesday through Friday……
If only GEM was on Foxtel i! satelite so I could record it .. I’m not staying up until 11.30pm to watch it live but I would still really like to see it.
@billy balakalai Conan is only doing the show Monday through to Thursday in the US.
billy balakalai, I believe Conan is only doing 4 nights a week in the U.S
How long do you think it will last on GEM before they move it ? or cancel it
Wish GEM was on foxtel by satellite. Surely having all the free to air HD channels would increase the uptake of the IQ2 box.
Still think this should have been on earlier in the evening. 9:30 pm would be ideal but no later than 10:30pm or else it will just get lost later on the digital channels.
Why only 4 nights per week ?
“the show will be “fast-tracked nightly direct from the United States” at 11:30pm Tuesdays to Fridays.”
Why not show the Friday night show on Saturday night or even Monday night like Letterman does?
He is definitely the best of the talk show hosts. Very funny and quirky. Hope it doesn’t take a new audience long to get that.
