Bruce Beresford Redman was taken into custody on Tuesday afternoon at his home, five months after Mexican authorities accused him of killing his wife. Sources said he was home alone at the time and offered no resistance.

Beresford-Redman, also the co-creator of MTV’s Pimp My Ride, has long been the prime suspect in the strangulation of his wife, Monica. Her body was found in a sewer near the five-star resort where they had been holidaying in April.

Family members have said that couple had gone to Mexico in an effort to reconcile their troubled marriage. Mexican officials said she died of “asphyxia by suffocation.”

Beresford-Redman remains in Los Angeles this week and has not said whether he would fight extradition, which could take months or even years.

His attorney Richard G. Hirsch says his client is innocent and should not be extradited to Mexico.
