  1. Put whatever $$$ you have on

    Most Popular Light Entertainment Program
**Hey Hey It’s Saturday (Nine Network)**

For this one, no way Daryl will let an opportunity like this slip by :p

  2. Hooray for Asher Keddie – shes amazing! Good on her, I hope she wins the Gold Logie. Disappointed that Shaun Micallef misses out. Also good to see Callan Mulvey nominated – deserving for his work on Rush.

  3. First off to those who say “You Voted” well that may be true but i believe something is fishy here. Sorry but to me the voting is rigged. How is it that Chrissie and Karl make the list? Something just doesn’t add up. I will say this i could vote as many times as i wanted to. There was no stopping me and who’s to say that the networks didn’t hire someone to do this too. Where is Shaun for Gold? Nup something is up. The Logies have become a joke. There are some very deserving nominations but others are just insane.

Karl is the biggest tosser on TV. For Gold i am voting for Jess. She deserves it so much. As for Chrissie i believe she doesn’t qualify for Gold according to TV Week criteria unless of course they are counting her year on Big Brother? Something just doesn’t add up. Sorry guys.

  4. Wow they are certainly different. What did the today show do to get Karl nominated. I know the circle team pushed hard for votes. It’s funny how Melissa Doyle gets nominations in the past for best presenter and never Kochie but on the today show its Karl and not lisa. Also Sunrise has been nominated for best light entertainment but not Today. I know Karl has been doing the diasters but most of them happened after the voting closed.

I reckon Chrissie will actually win best new talent. Cant believe there isnt a home and away person in there. When has a morning show had so many nominations. Even the morning show with Larry and Kylie which has not lost in the ratings since on air cant get a look in.

I thought Zoe may have been nominated for gold on her role in packed to the rafters last season and I thought Angus was great and wanted him nominated.

I would love to see Adam Hills win gold. Good for Asher to but Kat is also an oustanding actress. It would have been good to see her name there. Cant believe Shaun isnt there. I dont really mind who wins gold but im not keen on Karl winning. Nothing against him but it would be great to see an Adam Hills win or any of the others. Although it would have been nice to see Denise Drysdale get a nomination to.

I will tell you now the Nrl footy show will probably win because the afl footy show loses votes to before the game which is a way better show. The Nrl doesnt have any compeition unless you call the matty john’s show competition. Its a surprise rise to see Matty John’s show in there.

Another definite winner will be better homes and gardens.

Thats one of ch 10s best decisions. Getting rid of David & Kim and putting the Circle on.

  5. WTH?? Asher Keddie, and Chrissie, who is she?? never heard of her before. What about other dramas such as Sea patrol. There is such great Aussie talent and has over 1.2 million views, more than Rush!!! Where is the fan base of one of the most popular tv shows in australia?? i must say i am dissapointed yet again, screw the logies i’m going to watch a movie instead.
P.S i reckon they were rigged, just saying!

  6. PTTR picking up 15 nominations. Is that a record for a single show? How Angus McLaren wasn’t nominated for most outstanding actor is beyond me.

  7. I would say that some of the nominations for Gold are undeserving, but since it is a popularity contest clearly if enough people like you enough to nominate you, you deserve to be there, regardless of those who don’t like you. So, I’ll just say some of the nominations are a surprise because I wouldn’t have guessed those people would be that popular.

  8. Disappointed Shaun missed out but very happy for Chrissie.
Not much point in questioning the credibilty of an awards show run by TV week though.

  9. Shaun Micallef and Kat Stewart should be up for gold. Logies are just bleh. Not like I’d be watching anyway though. Masterchef will entertain me

  10. @David. the voting didn’t close till mid March, I see it as being nominated from the Logies last year till when they air this year not just 2010.

  11. @Alex – thanks for the link. I saw that site earlier, but it only has the nominees back to 1998 (and winners before that).

@JB – City Homicide didn’t figure in the Industry Voted categories, either, so scrapping the Logies wouldn’t change that situation.

  12. Guys I think you are all forgetting Karl’s non stop coverage of the Qld floods, Cyclone Yasi, ChristChurch earthquake and Japan’s Earthquake, not to mention his 60 mins stories.

He is well deserved to win Gold this year!

  13. No Shaun Micallef for the Gold Logie shows how terrible and meaningless the Logies are. He even joked on Your Gen how he would win the Gold Logie this year, how he’s not even nominated is pathetic. And Karl for Gold…really??

Scrap the Logies already and give some credibility to the tv industry in this country. We have some great local shows, City Homicide is one of the best, but the Logies reward Home & Away and annoying morning show hosts, and not the quality shows we produce.

  14. @Ruddeger Chrissie Swan, Poh Ling Yeow and Julie Goodwin are considered New Talents because being a reality TV contestant doesn’t put your name on the voting list. If it did, wouldn’t we have 20 people from Masterchef, 18 people from Big Brother, 20 people from Dance etc. being eligible for New Talent each year?

Swan, Yeow and Goodwin debuted in their own respective shows and are nominated for that.

  15. Just watched the Logie nominations coverage of ACA. That presenter (sorry, don’t know his name) really knows nothing about the Logies. He referred to the Sullivans as having won a swag of Gold Logies and that you can now vote for “favourite celebrity by phone or TV Week magazines” – Nope, only by phone (call or text).

ACA did a short presentation highlighting the year of the six Gold Logie nominees. Not much emphasis was on Adam Hills, Rebecca Gibney and Jessica Marais. But Asher Keddie, Karl Stefanovic and Chrissie Swan’s bits made them look like plausible nominees.

  16. Asher Keddie has had my attention since Love My Way. She’s been outstanding in Hawke and Curtin (maybe she just loves Labor PM’s!) and I think she’s been great for the eps of Offspring that I’ve seen. I thik she was even in Secret Life of Us wasn’t she? Best of luck!
