Gone: Camelot

Nine has dumped Camelot from Sunday to be replaced by the movie The Hangover.

Nine has dumped Camelot from its 9:30pm Sunday timeslot, to be replaced by the movie The Hangover.

The medieval drama debuted on Sunday with two episodes.

If it’s being rescheduled anywhere it’s hard to know, given Nine seems to be very selective about which Amendments it is sending out these days.

Can we expect another one after Same Name tomorrow?

  1. Why do producers keep rehashing shows such as Camelot which have been done a multitude of times over the years when there is such a rich supply of science fantasy/fiction literature never made into film. Look how good Game of Thrones is. No one will take a risk to try something new and fresh sadly.

  2. What a waste, Channel Nine. You spend all this time over the last few months to promote the show and then you pull it after one week. You really are clueless.

  3. 2 things. Nine for some reason seem to play movies on monday night/tuesday morning at 12am, why not use that slot to burn off and get rid of these eps since its not doing so well in prime time. its only one season so instead of making people wait for the rest of the eps, just put it there. Ten and Seven put the less popular/low rated shows in that sort of late night slot and they stay there, Nine should follow that example!

  4. Damn. I loved this show. i watched on Sunday, not realising it was going for two hours, but then taped most of the second half. Now God knows if I will see the rest of the series. I can never keep track of times shows are on GO and I don’t yet have GEM. I really hate nine.

  5. So frustrating when you start watching a show, only for a network to simply pull it only two episodes in.

Surely they could find room amongst their sea of sitcom repeats for episodes of Camelot, or even a slot on GO! so those that made the effort to watch it might get to see a conclusion.

  6. I love fantasy and science fiction so it is always depressing when shows of this type fail and are immediately taken off the air.

Same Name has little appeal to me nor do any of the reality shows on the box at present.

  7. I’ll try and look surprised.

All the promises were for nothing, this should have been on GEM months ago! Thanks for nothing Nine and you wonder why you’re no longer ‘Still The One’.

  8. Typical. It sounded interesting but it’s such a bad fit for Nine’s traditional audience that I didn’t even bother. It should have gone straight to Go or GEM. And starting with a double ep is never a good sign. Double eps are good for season finales or season openers of an established series. It’s a big ask commitment-wise for an unknown quantity, esp give the time with work/school the next day.

There should be a school where programmers can go to learn this basic stuff because they certainly don’t seem to know what they’re doing half the time.

  9. Same Name will bomb, no doubt about it. It is one of those minor interest programs like the three programs they scheduled after UK Top Gear that no one watched. I can’t even remember what they were! How’s that for a lasting impression?

A show like this would find a far happier medium on GEM or GO!, but they axe things there as well. Ridiculous.

  10. already?! geez Nine, at least play it after Hangover (which should be on GO!) instead of Flashpoint repeats. and it was 4 eps, not 2 as they were double eps.

  11. WTF! Nine are idiots they by the rights to a great show judging from what a saw on Sunday night and then they axe it. Meanwhile we will have to wait weeks for it to appear on Go! or on GEM. I dont understand why Nine does this, they by a good show and then they drop it just after its debut night, i mean who runs that network spoilt bratty kids, who cant seem to be able to make up their minds.

  12. Wow, dumping a program after only one episode; that’s got to be a record even for Nine!

Maybe they’ll out-do themselves and dump Same Name Before it goes to air.

  13. David Knox , have some faith mate , it may be a great show tonights episode of the same name , next week is Mike Tyson , punch and grope , punch and grope thats all i know.

  14. I don’t know which Nine exec decided to schedule Same Name on at Wednesday (as a change after the printed guides were released no less). This show doesn’t even deserve prime time on any Nine channel. Save it for weekend afternoons.

I’d be surprised if it rated above 500k tonight.
