Gone: Camelot

Nine has dumped Camelot from Sunday to be replaced by the movie The Hangover.

Nine has dumped Camelot from its 9:30pm Sunday timeslot, to be replaced by the movie The Hangover.

The medieval drama debuted on Sunday with two episodes.

If it’s being rescheduled anywhere it’s hard to know, given Nine seems to be very selective about which Amendments it is sending out these days.

Can we expect another one after Same Name tomorrow?

  1. A big thumbs down to channel 9 for dropping Camelot, really enjoyed the first two hours & was looking forward to this Sunday.
That’s what I call treating their viewers with contempt, probably too much to ask for 9 to let people know if & when it will be shown!!! Won’t hold my breath

  2. Surprise, surprise… everyone recorded it to watch later … like I did. It is a very strong series that is again wasted on idiots like Nine … it is available on Blu-ray from the UK now and I should have just bought it instead of thinking that Nine would give it a fair go …
How can Nine be allowed to continue to be run by such incompetent and highly overpaid morons????

  3. @Kevin – GoT and BE are a bad fit for Nine’s audience and they would have made more by on-selling them. I think they made the right call there. Camelot wouldn’t have attracted the same price and they presumably thought they’d give it a crack with a biggish lead-in from UB. It should have been on Go from the outset (and not for two hours starting after 9:30).

  4. So far, Cairns TV guides still have Camelot listed for WIN Sunday 4 September 9.30 – 11.30 pm as another double episode. I spoke with the local station and their programming (nationwide from Wollongong!) has Camelot listed for Sunday 11 September 9.30 pm. Doesn’t seem to be cancelled but they certainly need to get their guides together. I really enjoyed the show and I’d recommend it.

  5. if i had a choice and i do…id prefer Camelot over Merlon…. Merlon is garbage compared to the quality of production on Camelot…not as good as game of thrones though

  6. correct me if I’m wrong – but between Razor and Camelot, nine lost about 1.1m viewers. It’s reason enough to move a show. Question is why was it in that time-slot in the first place?

  7. So frustrating. Was looking forward to the rest of this series. Why don’t the commercial networks give anything more than a week before they rip it off air?
This is why I have Foxtel and Apple TV.

  8. Can’t say I’m shocked… What was stupid was trying to make an event out of a series that was already cancelled. The show didn’t make it past season one, that alone should have made Nine put it on GEM or Go. This instability really does make them look weak and far to reactive to one week worth of ratings…

  9. I agree with Archer, Game of Thrones is fantastic. Definitely worth a look if you’re a fan of those types of shows

The first and second episodes were a little slow, but episode 3 was great, and it got better every week from there

  10. So glad I didn’t bother, 1 because I knew it had been canceled and I’m beyond watching any more shows that don’t get a proper conclusion, and 2 because I knew Nine would do this. Be done with it Nine and just show Big Bang and 2.5 Men all day long on alternate days.

  11. David where is your positivity toward the same name. Dont worry I garee with you. It will fail and will be smashed by the x factor.

Maybe 9 are still angry that they lost the week last week so they took there anger out on Camelot.

  12. I may support Nine, watch Nine and enjoy Nine programs but i wasn’t into (prefer Merlin) so it doesn’t bother me that it is gone. Same Name won’t be watched I would rather the Renovators. Won’t be surprised to see Ten’s ratings press release stating “Renovators beats Nine two nights in a row”. While I might be more a Ten fan than a Nine fan, it is Eleven that pulls Ten up while GO and Gem let Nine down plus the absence of proper Tuesday and Wednesday night programs. Sundays and Mondays are good and even Thursdays which would be better with Getaway. Fridays are not as exciting for me and Saturday, Nine dominates only because I watch the news and AFHV and over on Gem is new CSI NY. Nine can do better and if they cannot in 4-6 weeks time, it wont look good. They have some good content coming and need to use it. New programs on GO like The Voice is what that channel needs. Channel 9 can do better but they need to try.
