Returning: Rush

Police drama Rush returns to TEN next week, on Thursday September 1st.

Police drama Rush returns to TEN next week, airing at 9:30pm on Thursday September 1st.

This will be the fourth season for the Tactical Response team and initiates a major storyline across its 13 episodes.

TEN did not announce the show amongst its returning dramas at its 2012 Programming launch last week.

TEN’s award winning police drama is back. And it’s better than ever.

Opening with the assassination of the Victorian police minister, Kerry Vincent (Catherine McClements) has now appointed a new taskforce, Cicero, in order to find those responsible. Apart of that task force is our beloved Tactical Response team with a new addition, Charlie Lewis.

Lewis (played by Outrageous Fortune’s Antony Starr) is brought in above Lawson (Rodger Corser) which is less than welcome news for a man who is used to having things his own way. How will this new leadership sit with TR? And who won’t even have their job after the first briefing?

As this newly appointed task starts to find those responsible, they uncover a convoluted criminal  web that goes deeper than any of them imagined. Spanning across thirteen episodes, this new  season will see gun fights, car chases, hostage scenarios and explosions all piecing together for one hell of a ride.

  1. The ads now say movie length premiere at 8:30pm september 1st – how exciting!! Fingers crossed we get an explanation as to why on earth Josh grew his hair hahaha

  2. Jeepers, are people off their meds today?

Personally I think it’s sad that Rush is being dumped into 9.30 Thursdays but because it has such a loyal following I think people who like it will stick with it no matter where it is. Just don’t start shuttling it around, Ten!

  3. @Secret Squirrel , I never turn up late to a party , I’ve been to many a party where I disagree with your comments including this one , unlike your party ventures where all you wanna do is find the nearest window so you can break wind .

  4. @secret squirrel. Rush does good demos. Hamish and Andy does great demos. Why would TEN put Rush in a suicide slot when at the end of H&A there are 1 million viewers looking for something else to watch. Footy show? not in Syd/Bris!
Rush is not an 8.30 option in this environment.

  5. @TV. Tomorrow & @Whoop – how about showing a little maturity and identifying what it is that you disagree with rather than just turning up late to the party and dropping your daks.

  6. @ Secret Squirrel anything will rate better than Rush and I mean anything, even repeats.

Rush should never have been given a 2nd season let alone a 3rd or 4th. Just shows how much faith Ten has in it if they put it on at 9.30pm. It’s exactly the sort of Australian drama we don’t need and yet another John Edwards flop.

Ever since it began ratings for this show have been disastrous. Glad to see it go.

  7. I am glad it is back. 9:30 isn’t the best time slot, but then you can see that obviously 10 will axe it at the end of the season, due to no more tax discounts.

I agree with Anthony Mai at least it will not clash with Crownies.

Aussie dramas don’t seem to get much of a fair go and deserve better.

    Love Rush and Crownies 🙂

  8. Outraged at Rush being given a 9.30pm slot.

Are TEN serious? Look at their current ratings. The Footy Show on Nine does good numbers at 9.30 – Rush has no chance. Idiots. Give it an 8.30 slot.

  9. This surely can’t be because Ten thinks that a repeat of SVU will rate better than Rush? Is it a classification thing? If so, they’ll prob be better off making 9:30 the Rush slot rather than switching it around depending on the classification.

  10. “TEN did not announce the show amongst its returning dramas at its 2012 Programming launch last week”.

Finally common sense prevails! Ten mustn’t have had much faith in it ditching it in a 9.30pm slot.

I just wish they could make a good drama that appeals to more people for a change.
