  1. Let’s hope this year’s telecast is a lot tighter.
They could easily shave an hour off.
Let’s not forget the red carpet arrivals last year ended up getting a bigger audience than the ceremony itself.

  2. The same old nominees for Gold Logie. Where are Kochie, Sam and Lisa Wilkinson? They are more worthy of the Gold Logie rather than those old perennials who keep being nominated.

  3. My choices based on the noms

  4. I think there should be more peer nominations, after all TV week is only about selling their magazine. The Popular categories just go to show that the awards are a bit strange to say the least, whereas the Outstanding categories seem to have it right, in my opinion .

After all some people just do not know how hard it is to make a great show. Just look at Janet King and Rake, even though I do not like the over use of drugs in the show ( Rake) I still admire the series.

  5. Will the Logies ever go away? Such a meaningless award with no credibility attached to it. Then again our tv industry is very poor (at least commercial tv) so it’s fitting we have a poor industry award to match

  6. Wow congrats to Olympia Valance from Neighbours for getting nominated. Cant recall anything to do with Neighbours being nominated in the past few years.

  7. Yawn – find the Gold Logie Nominations very very boring. Hope Carrie gets the nod this year otherwise give it to Asher even though I haven’t seen her shows.

Like the nominations for Janet King/Marta, Anzac Girls and Please Like Me although I would choose Debra over Josh in a heartbeat

  8. Pretty boring Gold nominations – all of them previous winners and nominees. I am hoping Bickmore gets it just to show the most popular television personality is not the hosts of the highest rating series on television last year ie. Manu and Pete from MKR.

I won’t be watching again this year. Just like the AACTA and ARIA awards – Australians just don’t know how to properly produce an awards show.

    1. Same as when Joel Madden was nominated for “best new talent” – even though he’d been a rock star for years, was his first time on Australian television.

  9. surprised that wentworth has only been nominated for most outstanding. that show is brilliant and it needs to be nominated in the most popular categories.

    my picks:
    Gold logie- scott cam/carrie bickmore
Most Popular presenter- grant denyer/ karl
Most Popular Actress- Jessica Marias/Julie Morris
Most Popular Actor- Luke Arnold/Craig Mclachlan
Most Popular Drama- Love Child/House Husbands
    Most Popular New Talent-Mirand Tapsell
Most Popular Entertainment Program- The Voice/Family Feud

Most Outstanding Actress- Danielle Cormack/Jessica Marias
    Graham Kennedy Award- Miranda…

    1. Think you’ll find that the “Most Popular” category is for shows that are the most popular (duh). Orange is a good drama and doing well for Pay TV but it isn’t getting anywhere near the numbers of those shows that have been nominated. That’s why “Most Outstanding” is a separate series of categories.

  10. What a surprise. All the people and shows Nine and Ten were pushing to get nominated in on air promos get nominated. It’s like Seven don’t care because they never run ask to vote promos. Most Outstanding Comedy Program nominee Black Comedy, first time the show has made me laugh reading it is nominated in this category.

  11. Surprised not to see Debra Lawrance nominated for Most Outstanding Actress. She was bloody amazing in Please Like Me, especially that episode in Tasmania. I wonder if the ABC even put her forward?

  12. Surprised both 9 & 7 nominated for sydney siege. Ch10 coverage was far better than 9. Given Chris Reason won journalist of the year for his coverage on the siege and how good 7 was at handling the fact their newsroom had been evacuated the award should go to them and the whole things a joke if it is a different outcome.

Karl Stephanovic? Most popular presenter? Obviously doesn’t go on ratings.

    Carrie for gold.

  13. Wow Masterchef didnt get a look in when I reckon it had one of its best series last year. Gold im not surprised about. Most popular presenter is interesting. Do people prefer andy to hamish. Nice to see Jessica Marais back in the nominations.

  14. all the popular awards are pretty boring & predictable. disapointed to see the very crap season of house husbands nominated but A Place To Call Home misses out. Masterchef not nominated would have to be a bit confronting to ten.

Martin Henderson for outstanding actor in secrets and lies?? WTAF? worst acting i’ve ever seen. and surprised to see the peers still like The Voice, the 2014 season was terrible. 7mates comedies got 2 nominations which would be a surprise.

  15. I’m happy that The Voice and Grant Denyer picked up a couple nominations. It’s about time that Carrie Bickmore won Gold. For Hall of Fame I would like to see Emily Symons, Lynne McGranger or Jackie Woodburne inducted.

  16. Interesting to see what the ‘peers’ and the public see as “Entertainment”:

    Most Popular Entertainment Program
    • Family Feud (Network Ten)
    • Hamish & Andy’s Gap Year South America (Nine Network)
    • Sunrise (Channel Seven)
    • The Project (Network Ten)
    • The Voice Australia (Nine Network)

    Most Outstanding Entertainment Program
    • Bogan Hunters (7mate)
    • Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell (ABC)
    • The Chaser’s Media Circus (ABC)
    • The Checkout (ABC)
    • The Voice Australia (Nine Network)

    same for “Drama”

    Most Popular Drama Program
    • Home And Away (Channel Seven)
    • House Husbands (Nine Network)
    • INXS: Never Tear Us Apart (Channel Seven)
    • Love Child (Nine Network)
    • Offspring (Network Ten)

    Most Outstanding Drama Series
    • Janet King (ABC)
    • Puberty Blues (Network Ten)
    • Rake (ABC)
    • The Code (ABC)
    • Wentworth (FOXTEL/SoHo)

  17. Gold Logie = Asher Keddie (Network Ten)

Most Popular Actor = Josh Thomas (ABC3)
Most Popular Drama Series = Love Child (Nine Network)
Most Outstanding Drama Series = Janet King (ABC1)
