Axed in 2018
From The Footy Show to The Checkout, & Roseanne -here's what we farewelled in 2018.

In 2018 the curtain came down on The NRL Footy Show, The Checkout, Tonightly with Tom Ballard and Roseanne.
We bid farewell to dramas such as 800 Words, A Place to Call Home and Rake (some by decisions of the various creatives involved).
Unlike the US, Aussie networks are reticent to use “the A word” (as a network boss once described it to me) when it comes to decision-time. Many shows fade into oblivion without any clarity as to their fate, which is pretty unfair to loyal viewers.
Family Feud, for instance, was not axed it was “rested.” The Blake Mysteries isn’t axed, it’s just not returning…
There are still a swag of shows whose future has not been determined, including Wanted, The AFL Footy Show, True Story with Hamish & Andy, The Chef’s Line, Family Food Fight, Take Me Out, All Together Now, Little Big Shots, How To Stay Married, Russell Coight’s All Aussie Adventures, Game of Games etc.
But where a show did not appear in 2018 and has not been confirmed for 2019 it is included here.
Here are the shows that indicated the end whether by network decision, creative or other forces at work…

Sad about The Checkout, especially the fact that I didn’t get a chance to watch the final season. I will be watching the final season of The Family Law on either SBS or SBS Viceland though.
Eddie must be working hard behind the scenes to keep the ALF Footy Show on and look after his mate Sam. One show that should go.
Darn, I missed that Shark Tank got the chop. I loved that show. I was devo to see ScreenPlay go, too. But despite being a fan of earlier seasons, I was glad to see the back of unReal, Scorpion and the Joel McHale show. They all hobbled towards the final line.
I’m so glad Homeland is coming to an end after the next season. I’ve watched every ep but it’s really time to go. Carrie must be exhausted.
So so many shows. Its amazing how many get pumped out each and every year. Also 12 Monkeys isn’t on your list. It had its final season this year. Great show this one. Sad to see it go 🙁
I went off Shark Tank when I found out that the majority of “deals” don’t eventuate post production, making it seem very unauthentic.
Izombie has been renewed for a final season which is airing this year
Shark Tank was one of the very few shows I’d watch across the entire 10 network’s channels. Shame they cancelled it. They ruined the 2017 season by rushing episodes, doubling them up so they could start Batchelor. 2018 series was consistent, but the late starting times meant I never watched it live, or even on the same night.
Check out Shark Tank (US) and Dragons Den (UK). They are the real deal. Unfortunately the Aussie Shark Tank sharks were all light wieght in my opinion.
Wasn’t Lucifer saved by Netflix?
Lucifer was thrown a lifeline by Netflix 🙂 and izombie has a final season to come. So many good shows cancelled too soon
Think Tank
Probably but that fits with shows yet to be determined along with Wanted, Game of Games etc.
You need to put an asterix next to Quantico, the final season hasn’t aired here yet either. And I thought Crazy ex-girlfriend had one more season to air here too.
Lucifer was also thrown a lifeline
