The ABC has overlooked submitting Chris Lilley and Angry Boys for the Most Popular categories at the 2012 Logie Awards.
It means Lilley is ineligible for the Gold Logie award.
“This is extremely disappointing for everyone who worked on Angry Boys and for fans hoping to vote,” Lilley said in a statement yesterday.
“I have always enjoyed performing at the Logies whenever I have a show out so it will be a shame not to be included. Due to this oversight you will NOT be able to vote in the Silver and Gold categories for the 2011 Logie Awards.
“The Logies have been notified but have refused to add Angry Boys and Chris Lilley to the voting lists as the ABC missed the deadline for submission.”
A statement from ABC conceded, “The omission was a result of an administrative oversight by ABC TV. We have made wholehearted apologises to both Chris and Laura Waters, his producer.
“Chris’s outstanding role in Angry Boys has always been on the network’s Most Outstanding categories list to be submitted to the Logies early next year.”
Despite mixed reviews for the comedy, ABC1 Channel Controller Brendan Dahill recently told TV Tonight, “I’m really proud of Angry Boys and I want to work with Chris again.”
2012 Logie contenders are listed here.

It may not have been good as his first two series but it doesn’t deserve the criticism I see here. Tall poppy syndrome it seems.
Did Seven submit the Kyle and Jackie O Special?
good i am glad that they forgot this embarrasment to australia
Sure – “forgets”. Chris Lilley is one of the most overrated talents this country has ever produced.
And we have produced a lot.
its okay, doesnt deserve a nomination anyway…..
Well unlike his 1st two series this one sucked.
…I highly doubt if it would have won anyway. Stress less Lilley.
That’s very disappointing. Although a lot of people didn’t seem to enjoy Angry Boys as much as Lilleys other shows, people should still have been given the opportunity to vote for it. Can’t understand how the ABC forgot to submit it.
Sorry Chris but Angry Boys was not quite Logie worthy.
What’s the bet Chris will go to a commercial network after this?
Wow.. totally shocking. Even more that they don’t allow a space for you to enter it in on your own, rather than having to choose from a selection.
What a load of rot. This embarrassing piece of television would not have won a meat raffle at the local surf club let alone a Logie. And as for Chris saying he loves performing at the Logies, poppycock: he’s more likely to sit sulking in a corner shunning attention and looking uncomfortable as he has done for years. Perhaps it’s just shyness, but without a character or a script as a mask, he really is not good at promotion.
Oversight my foot. Wasnt submitted because it wasn’t good, and everyone knows it. Lilley is a genius but he blew himself up with Angry Boys, should accept it and move on. He’ll be back with something fab. Angry Boys isn’t, wasn’t, will never be it.
Silly ABC1.
Yer, “forgot”. No great omission, I think.
Oooooo, that is a big stuff up. Admin oversight??? Just as well the ABC admin staff don’t work in a hospital. Lilley is a genius of the modern TV era.
That’s low. He should have been!

With all due respect, and as someone who actually did watch Angry Boys, I don’t think the show, nor Chris himself, would have a snowball’s chance in hell of winning a Logie next year.
Idiots.
The show was rubbish and, as the ABC thought, forgettable.
Sorry Chris, but you won’t get much traction on this one. The fact is your show was not good and committed the worst crime of comedy – it was not funny.
I’m trying to forget it too. Can I please get a refund for those 5 hours of my life I wasted.
Unforgivable!
Angry Boys wasn’t even funny… or any good.
I’m sure that’s why you weren’t nominated Chris
