2013-04-14_1738Nine has scheduled repeats of House Husbands to replace Days of our Lives from 2pm next Monday.

Nine dumps the US soap on Friday after 45 years, based on a “commercial decision.”

Sony is hoping to find a new home for the popular soap and has set up a Facebook page for local fans.

But with just 10 episodes of House Husbands in the first season, Nine will need probably another show to see out the next 45 years.

  3. I have been watching Dool for 32 years . it is my escape from reality. Watching Beau and Hope grow up, have children and grand children. Watching Marlena marry Roman Then John Black. How would footy fans like it if all Football was taken off air at a whim. I dont want to see re runs. I want my TV family back.

  4. @askme, yes the ratings for that slot will probably go through the floor, but the profits for the slot will go through the roof.

    Nine is broke. It needs to do something.

    12 nine news now
    1 the view
    2 Ellen
    3 to 4 old sitcoms ie mtm rhoda Lucy golden girls good times
    4 nine afternoon news
    5 gameshow or current affair repeat
    5:30 hot seat

  6. Nine is mirroring what has been happening on NZ FTA where all networks have abandoned the daytime american soaps in favour repeats of primetime drama and the over saturation of US talkshows. I feel for the DOOL fans and can empathise as us kiwis lost DOOL for good in 2009 but thankfully a niche FTA channel brought the show back this year. One can only hope another FTA network picks it up.
